Planning out my film!
My film plot:
The opening scene of our film is Dexter and Brooke, two third-year college students, in history class. Brooke is the protagonist. She is a cheerleader and the main love interest. Dexter is another protagonist. He is Brooke's football player boyfriend. During class, Brooke drops her pencil and Dexter grabs it for her. This marks the start of a blooming friendship. The two get to talking and discover that they enjoy each other’s company. After class, Dexter and Brooke are seen walking together in the hallway where Dexter asks Brooke out on a date. Brooke happily agrees to meet him at a restaurant tonight at 7. Unbeknownst to the two of them, someone overheard their conversation at college and was not happy to hear so.
Dexter and Brooke are seen on their date having a nice time while laughing and chatting. Their waiter takes their order. The waiter is Brody, the one that overheard their conversation earlier. He is only posing as a waiter. He brings the two water but he drugs them in the process, seen mixing it into their water. After having a few sips, Brooke starts talking, but she starts to stutter and feel dizzy. The shot zooms in on her eyes, where she is slowly blinking until her eyes completely close.
When she opens her eyes, she wakes up in bed. She sees Brody, a seemingly charming guy with flowers and chocolates in his hand. Brooke is distraught and has no clue who anyone is. Brody reassures her that she will be alright, explaining that he and Brooke are high school sweethearts and have been dating for years. He explains that the two share an apartment near their shared college campus. Brooke was unsure whether she should trust him. However, she believes him because she remembers nothing due to her injury. Brody leaves to use the bathroom. Meanwhile, Brooke observes their bedroom. She notes how none of the pictures around the room have the two of them together. Brody then goes to the kitchen to make the two of them some food. He makes Brooke a drink, and, yet again, mixes something in her drink. When Brody arrives in their bedroom with lunch, he sees Brooke holding a framed photo of herself. Brody asks Brooke what she is doing. Brooke replies that she is confused because she does not recall taking this photo. She also questions why they do not have photos together. Brody tells her that they have plenty of photos together but she should focus on feeling better first instead of other things. He tells Brooke to get in bed and eat. He feeds her and ensures she drinks her drink. Brooke starts to feel drowsy, and she sleeps for a while. Brody then leaves the bedroom. In the living room, he hears a scream coming from across the house. Unamused, Brody goes to the room where the screams are coming from. He unlocks the room and walks to a tied-up Dexter. Dexter is weak and tired. Brody gives him some water, which causes Dexter to go into slumber. As Brody leaves the room, the door closes and the screen blackens. Then, the scene cuts to a different, dimly lit room. There is a laptop where Dexter has many photoshopped photos saved. He has photoshopped countless photos of Brooke and him together.
Going back to Brooke, she is now awake. It is nighttime now and she sees no one is in the room or the hallway of the house. She goes to the kitchen to get a drink of water. She then sees many pills. As she picks up some pills she is struggling to identify, Brody walks in and snatches them from her. Brooke tells Brody she came to the kitchen to get some water. Brody told her to go to her room and ask him for anything she needs. As Brooke starts to make her way to her room, a large noise comes from the room Dexter is held captive in. Brody makes the excuse that the pipes are acting faulty and says he is going to go check on them. Brody goes inside Dexter’s room and shuts the door. Brooke is curious, but she starts to make her way back to her room. However, the door with the photoshopped photos is open a crack. Brooke peeks in and sees the photoshopped photos on the laptop. Brooke is in shock. She suspects Brody is not who he says he is and might be dangerous. She decides to take a knife from the kitchen and enter the room where the noise came from. She opens the door to see Brody shoving a pill down Dexter’s mouth. Brooke is shocked. Brody does not notice Brooke come in. Brooke tries to cut him with the knife from the back. She slightly scratches his arm. However, Brody fights back and ends up getting the knife out of Brooke’s hands and drugs her once again. Brooke wakes up tied next to Dexter. As she stares at Dexter, her memories come rushing back. She was staring at the love of her life. Suddenly, Brody walks in. He explains how much he loved Brooke and she always ignored him in high school. He wanted to get her at any cost. Brooke notices she is tied loosely. She undoes the knot and hits Brody in the head with the lamp next to her. Brody loses consciousness. She unties Dexter and the two escape and call the police. Brody is arrested and Dexter and Brooke embrace each other at the end.
The marketing of the film:
We plan to create an Instagram and Twitter account to create anticipation for our film. We will emphasize the star-studded cast and the large production company behind the film to create hype. We will release interviews of the cast and producers/directors before the release of the movie. We will create movie posters with the cast names and three main characters featured. We will create a youtube account to post the film trailer and behind-the-scenes content with the cast while filming!
